Doors related problems and its solution

                 Out of many household problems one major one is the problems related to doors in home.Whether its new or old doors some time it creates unbearable problems which must be taken care as soon as possible.

             For some problems we call carpenter or helpers and pay them large amount for small problems too which we can already take care by self only.

              Paying for small problems is not beneficial for us as it takes away our time and money too. 

So I am going to sort out some major problems arising in our home commonly and there solutions to do it yourself.

Here they are:-

Door

• When door can't stay open ,check the hinges .If one has shifted or hinges are loose or if any hinge screw is loose,reset the hinge in its original position and tighten the screws. • Quietening the door that slams with noise stick a strip of foam rubber to the edge of the doorstop moulding. Peel and stick foam weather stripping tape works well.A short length of foam near the top and bottom of the frame will often suffice.you can also try a narrow strip of cork or leather.                                                                                                                                           
• To keep a door from slamming against the wall when it opens fit a rubber door stop to the floor. This is the basic solution which everyone already knows.

• For child's room we can make an easy door bumper: put a rubber ball in a sock and hang it from inside doorknob.Child cannot close the door accidentally or slam it on the wall.                       
• In kitchen cabinet doors the self closing hinges  make them slam shut.Muffle the noise with bumpers made of silicone rubber sealant.

                    Put two small blobs of sealant -each about the size of a pencil rubber -on the inside corners of each door,one at the top and the other at the bottom.Then place strips of sticky tape on the cabinet where the sealant makes contact.

                  Smear each tape strip with a tin film of petroleum jelly to keep the sealant from sticking when the door is closed.and to act as a spacer, tape a small piece of 1/8 in /3 mm thick cardboard to the cabinet between the tape strips. 

            Close the door ,let the sealant dry overnight,then peel off the tape and cardboard.

Wax Remover :- If candle wax drips onto a table,allow it to harden and scrape off as much as possible with a spoon or a blunt knife blade.often the remainder with warm from a hair dryer and then lift it off with a paper towel or blotting paper. All the patches will also gets clean up after this procedure.
2. Travellers Helper:- When outside and you have no time to dry your clothes after its wet and you only have one pair of dress to enjoy your holiday outside no worry just take out your dryer hang your wet clothes on towel hanger.Blow dry it with hair dryer it will get dry in no time.
3. Shoes Dryer:- If your shoes stinks and is always wet inside toes then aim the nozzle of you dryer set it on low for about 5 minutes.All the smells and wetness will get away.
4. Bandage Remover :- Easily remove an adhesive bandage off a wound by blowing the warm air onto the bandage.
5. Duster :- In our home there are small hidden places where too many dust accumulates which are hard to dust even from dusting clothes.like electricity board ,electric appliance,shelf gaps ,stereos or computers keyboard etc.
6. Invisible Ink revealer :- After writing a message on a piece of paper with lemon or onion juice, make it invisible by drying it with the hair dryer on low temperature.Make the writing visible by making it set on high temperature an dry.This is very useful for hidden secrets. 
7. Heat Leak detector :- Make someone hold the lit candle inside a window go outside with a hair dryer and air around the frame.If the flame wavers the window is leaking heat.Repeat this procedure around every exterior door and window.Make them draught proof if necessary.
8. Fire up logs or charcoal:- Blow dry on low over the logs if you want to lit fire for any purpose or to lit up charcoal for barbecue.

                    You all know candles are used to lighten up the dark places but do you all know that it can make your other works also easy. A candle can also provide heat.Let us find out some of these things that can help you out if you have candles with you.

       Rub candles along the runners of zip to cut resistance.It will remove its stiffness and make it smooth and clen to operate freely.

    2. Egg Decorator:-

            Over hard boiled eggs drip melted wax and then by dipping them in water which contains food coloring dye them. Now peel off the wax and you can see some amazing intricate patterns over it.

  3. Envelope Sealer :-

      If you have to reopen an envelope after you have sealed it then don't get upset.You can seal them again with the use of few drops of melted wax.
